Hi there, I am Robin
Passion and curiosity drive me in a world that is constantly evolving, and as a designer, I thrive in the balance between structure and exploration. Structure allows me to focus on details, ensuring that every element in a design is intentional and contributes to a meaningful experience. At the same time, my broad skill set as a generalist helps me see the bigger picture, making me adaptable across different disciplines, from UX and interactive storytelling to games, education, and animation.
A Bsc Industrial Design provided a combination of technical, human-centered, and creative disciplines, giving me a well-rounded approach to design. While my education grounded me in innovation, user research, and product development, I felt the need to dive deeper into psychology, communication, and media design. Thus I pursued a Msc Communication and Information Sciences with a New Media Design specialization to understand not just how things are made, but how they shape human experiences. This blend of perspectives allows me to create immersive and meaningful interactions, always considering both usability and emotional impact.
With a strong user-centered approach, I emphasize research and user studies to create solutions that truly serve people’s needs. I believe that design is communication, and my love for storytelling and visual design allows me to shape how ideas are perceived and understood. Whether through interaction, storytelling, or technology, I aim to craft designs that don’t just function but leave a lasting impression.
My vision
Design is more than aesthetics. It shapes the way we interact, learn, and experience the world. As technology advances, I believe designers must be mindful of the broader societal impact of their work. Every design choice influences human behavior, and we carry the responsibility of ensuring these interactions are meaningful, ethical, and beneficial to users.
My vision is to craft experiences that foster connection, curiosity, and well-being. Whether through interactive media, educational tools, or immersive storytelling, I aim to design with purpose and empathy, ensuring that innovation serves people rather than overwhelms them. By bridging technology, psychology, and storytelling, I strive to create solutions that not only function but also resonate by supporting growth, engagement, and positive change.
Other things I enjoy:
- Tea and Baking: Looking for new tea/coffee spots and baking delicious treats and desserts to satisfy my sweet tooth is something I really enjoy doing.
- Dance: Dance has been a part of my life since I was four years old. It is a way to express myself, to move and to challenge myself. Lately it also helped to get an eye for movement in Animation.
- Reading: Immersing myself in stories, mostly fantasy, and living with the characters in their world is something that makes an impact in my life, whether it is because they finally win, or because someone heroically sacrifices themselves.
- Creative hobbies (while watching shows or movies): Being busy with my hands, whether it is crochet, building kits, or embroidery. I especially enjoy this when I can simultaniously enjoy a movie or show with a good plot or great comedy.
